X community adds a context note to video of Trump speech: An X account posted a clip from a Donald Trump rally and called out part of the quote from the clip: "Trump on Haley: Where's her husband? Oh, he's away. He's away! What happened to her husband? What happened to her husband. Where is he? He's gone." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. Haleys's husband, Major Michael Haley, is serving in the National Guard and is currently deployed to Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti. nytimes.com/2024/02/04/us/…." The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
