Woke Inc. author and Strive Asset Management co-founder Vivek Ramaswamy joined the Media Research Center for part two of a three-part series.

Ramasamy turned his attention toward the future on this week’s episode of CensorTrack with Paiten where he discussed the question: “Is there hope for America?”

In part one, Ramaswamy spoke with Media Research Center President Brent Bozell to discuss how anti-Americanism became a cancer in American society.

Ramaswamy said he is optimistic about America’s prognosis. “The American ideals that brought together a divided, headstrong group of people 250 years ago, those ideals still exist. We just have to rediscover them.”

He stressed the need for free speech “online and offline” in order to have a prosperous country.

“On the internet, what’s the government doing? They’re pressuring companies in Silicon Valley to do their dirty work,” he said. “I think if it’s state action in disguise, then as I often say, the Constitution still applies. And that means companies ought to be bound by the First Amendment to the Constitution when they’re doing the government’s dirty work.”

Ramaswamy offered Section 230’s liability protection as an example of the federal government’s involvement in regulating online speech. He said that if the federal government protects Big Tech companies, they should also be “bound by the same constraints as the federal government, including the First Amendment.”

But he noted that the infringement of free speech is not an issue “limited to the online world.”

“If you look at the number of people who have been fired for saying the wrong thing at work, posting the wrong thing on social media, wearing the wrong hat of the wrong political candidate – say [former] President Trump – to work, it’s actually staggering. I think it’s actually frightening. That’s not the culture we want to live in.”

He urged Americans to continue fighting back against anti-Americanism and censorship. “It turns out that you don’t vote every November. You vote every day with your behaviors, your choices, how you express yourself, even how your dollars are spent. I intend that as an empowering message. If you take the time to understand how many different levers you use to influence our culture every day, I would say use all of them, and we’re on the doorstep of a cultural revival for the better in this country.”
