The Biden administration has appeared to turn its back on Facebook after the platform worked hard to censor the American people for the last year and a half.

Facebook VP of Integrity Guy Rosen whined about the Biden administration’s rampage over so-called misinformation about COVID-19 in a blog post. However, Facebook has very little room to complain, as the company and its subsidiaries donated nearly eight times more money to Democrats than Republicans in the 2020 election cycle.

Rosen complained that the Biden administration was simply engaging in “Finger Pointing.” “At a time when COVID-19 cases are rising in America, the Biden administration has chosen to blame a handful of American social media companies,” he said in the blog.

He claimed that Facebook may have helped more users actually decide to get vaccinated against COVID-19: “The data shows [sic] that 85% of Facebook users in the US have been or want to be vaccinated against COVID-19. President Biden’s goal was for 70% of Americans to be vaccinated by July 4. Facebook is not the reason this goal was missed.”

Rosen also took the opportunity to brag about the platform’s constant censorship. “Since the beginning of the pandemic we have removed over 18 million instances of COVID-19 misinformation,” he said. Rosen continued to say that the platform had “reduced the visibility of more than 167 million pieces of COVID-19 content debunked by our network of fact-checking partners so fewer people see it and — when they do — they have the full context.”

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki announced July 15 that the Biden administration is “flagging problematic posts for Facebook that spread disinformation” to blatantly use Big Tech to censor Americans. U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy released a report on the same day that, in part, recommended that social media platforms “[g]ive researchers access to useful data to properly analyze the spread and impact of misinformation.” He also recommended that technology companies “[s]trengthen the monitoring of misinformation.”

Facebook must likely now deal with the repercussions from the decisions it has made. The platform, its employees and its affiliates donated nearly eight times as much money to Democrats than Republicans in 2020, according to OpenSecrets. Democrats received approximately $6.3 million, while Republicans received only about $816,730. Additionally, a Facebook-funded organization may have helped swing the election in Arizona to then-candidate Joe Biden. Facebook could, alternatively, have upheld freedom of speech on its platform, but it chose to censor content that it disagreed with instead.

Conservatives are under attack. Contact Facebook headquarters at 1-650-308-7300 and demand that Big Tech be held to account to mirror the First Amendment while providing transparency, clarity on “hate speech” and equal footing for conservatives. If you have been censored, contact us using CensorTrack’s contact form, and help us hold Big Tech accountable.
