Donald Trump’s Truth Social platform filed on Monday a defamation lawsuit against outlets it accuses of “fake news.”

As the war for free speech rages on in America, many individuals and companies have turned to lawsuits—including Truth Social, which announced its lawsuit, filed in Florida. “To the Fake News outlets that think themselves above accountability: we’ll see you in court,” a Truth Social post read. The sued companies include big names such as The Guardian, Mediaite, MSNBC, Reuters, The Daily Beast, CNBC, Newsweek, Hollywood Reporter, Axios, and Salon.com.

The social media platform, owned by Trump, also announced in the post, “Today Truth Social filed a defamation lawsuit that is likely unprecedented in history, incorporating twenty publications—and even more may be added. All of them published the same false information about Truth Social and refused to fully retract their stories.” The post included a link to the 15-page-long lawsuit.

The lawsuit accused leftist media outlets and groups of reporting a “fabrication” to undermine Truth Social. “This case is about an unprecedented and seemingly coordinated media campaign, by no less than 20 major media outlets, to attack Trump Media & Technology Group (‘TMTG’) and its social media platform, Truth Social, by falsely reporting that TMTG had lost $73 million,” the text of the lawsuit began. Truth Social pledged to hold “these reckless and malicious media outlets to account for their false reporting and for their seemingly coordinated effort to destroy TMTG and Truth Social.”

Altogether, as noted above, 20 media entities are listed as defendants on Truth Social’s lawsuit. Trump has been one of the biggest targets for censorship from Big Tech, including previously being banned by Twitter, Facebook and Google-owned YouTube.
