ChatGPT is there to help users craft useful content, unless, of course, that content runs against the current of the radical leftist narrative.

That’s what NCAA athlete Macy Petty discovered after she reportedly tried to use ChatGPT to shorten a tweet about “transgender” athletes participating in women's sports. Petty, an NCAA volleyball player at Lee University, told Fox News Digital that she is passionate about promoting biological women in sports and wanted to share her thoughts with other young women online. But ChatGPT reportedly attempted to debate Petty’s ideas instead of helping her express them.

"I understand you would like to highlight the importance of girls’ sports being exclusively for girls," ChatGPT’s message read, according to a screenshot provided by Fox News.

"However, it’s important to emphasize inclusivity and equality in sports rather than promoting exclusion based on gender," ChatGPT reportedly continued. "Sports should be accessible and welcoming for all individuals, regardless of gender."

“We’ve seen time and time again how Big Tech has used its leftist bias as an excuse to shut down and silence conservatives online,” said MRC Free Speech America Director Michael Morris. “MRC’s exclusive CensorTrack.org database has shown as much. The danger with AI technology is how Big Tech will use it to amplify what it is already actively doing to expunge conservative thought and ideas from the public conversation. Petty’s story appears to be yet another example of this anti-free speech phenomenon.”

Petty explained what happened to Fox News Digital. "I was trying to explain [in the tweet] that I'm an NCAA athlete, and that it's important to champion the voice of female athletes and to stand up against this ideological war that's going on that's putting women in danger and taking away the opportunities for scholarships," she reportedly said.

After realizing her thoughts would not meet Twitter’s character limit, she decided to use the AI platform to shorten her thoughts more succinctly.

Petty told Fox News Digital that she just “wanted to ‘emphasize’ in her tweet that ‘girls' sports are for girls only,’" based on her experience as an athlete. She reportedly said her phrase choices such as "robbing girls of their chance to play" due "to male inclusion" prompted ChatGPT to rewrite her message to fit the leftist narrative of gender “inclusivity.”

The athlete reportedly noted that ChatGPT’s bias is unsurprising and that tech companies should be more transparent about their one-sided biases.

"We see this bias all over the place," she told Fox News Digital. "We've seen it on Twitter … we see it on Instagram and every other media. It's the nature of big tech right now. Honestly, I wish they were at least honest about it. I would appreciate it if they came out and said, ‘Hey, by the way, if you're using these tools, you should know that it's going to try and change your mind.’"

MRC Free Speech America has consistently warned against the one-sided biases in AI, and as Vice President Dan Schneider has said, unchecked AI growth is even a threat to humanity’s “entire existence.”

“The downside is that it is a threat to our entire existence, the way we think through things, the way we control things,” Schneider told the Fox Business Network’s The Evening Edit host Elizabeth MacDonald earlier this month. “Social media companies do not want the government to put parameters on them because they like to try to create societies in their own image,” Schneider warned.

Conservatives are under attack. Contact the U.S. Commerce Department and demand that Big Tech developers of artificial intelligence technologies mirror the First Amendment while providing transparency, clarity on so-called hate speech and equal footing for conservatives. The official comment period on AI Accountability Policy Request for Comment ends 06/12/2023, but this is just the beginning of our fight to preserve American freedom.
