The White House Director of Social Media, Dan Scavino Jr. announced on Monday that Facebook blocked him from replying to posts.

“Dear Facebook—AMAZING. WHY ARE YOU STOPPING ME from replying to comments followers have left me - on my own Facebook Page!!?? People have the right to know. Why are you silencing me??? Please LMK! Thanks,” he posted on Facebook.

Attached was a screenshot of an alert from Facebook itself informing him that he was “temporarily blocked from making public comments on Facebook.” Adding that this was because some of his comments “have been reported as spam.” and that in order to avoid this happening again, he should make sure his posts are “in line with the Facebook Community Standards.”

President Trump’s Facebook page itself responded by quoting a line from the Washington Examiner article, “‘Facebook abruptly censored the account of President Trump’s chief social media guru, blocking him for simply responding to a question from a reader.’ #StopTheBias.”

On Tuesday President Trump posted about this incident via Twitter as well, saying “I will be looking into this! #StopTheBias”

International Business Times observed that Scavino Jr.’s post “received over 3,000 reactions and more than 700 comments, and most of the latter were in his support.”
