After receiving his first-ever Academy Award, actor and climate activist Leonardo DiCaprio used part of his acceptance speech to harp on his favorite subject: catastrophic climate change.

DiCaprio called climate change the “most urgent threat facing our entire species” and blamed big corporations for contaminating initiative on the issue. Nevermind, his jet-setting, yacht-renting ways.

Predictably, Hollywood liberals applauded DiCaprio at the Oscars, and soon after many other liberal celebrities and media praised his speech on Twitter.

Richard Branson, CEO of Virgin Atlantic:

Bill Nye the “Science Guy”: DiCaprio “told the truth about climate change.”

Upworthy writer Parker Molloy:

James Murray, Editor-in-Chief at BusinessGreen: DiCaprio’s speech “really is worth a look”

Actress Jessica Chastain quoted DiCaprio pleading, “Let us not take this planet for granted.”

Actress Juliette Lewis was “happy” to see Dicaprio use his speech to push climate alarmism.

Guardian correspondent Suzanne Goldberg calls DiCaprio a top “champion” of climate change.

Business Insider claims DiCaprio’s speech will give people “chills.”

Former Backstreet Boys singer Kevin Richardson tweeted supportively, using the hashtag #ClimateChangeIsReal.

But not everyone was entertained.

Christian May, Editor-in-Chief at the London-based business news outlet City A.M., chastised DiCaprio for hypocritically decrying corporate greed after indulging in greed of his own.
