The damage that President Joe Biden’s disastrous policies would deal to U.S. miners appeared to even be too much for the left-wing outlet Reuters.

Reuters published a new story completely tearing into the Biden administration for slighting American workers: “Biden looks abroad for electric vehicle metals, in blow to U.S. miners.” Specifically, Reuters noted that Biden “will rely on ally countries to supply the bulk of the metals needed to build electric vehicles and focus on processing them domestically into battery parts.” Biden’s plans would reportedly be a “blow to U.S. miners who had hoped Biden would rely primarily on domestically sourced metals, as his campaign had signaled last autumn, to help fulfill his ambitions for a less carbon-intensive economy.”

Reuters cited two unnamed administration officials to describe Biden’s move as “part of a strategy designed to placate environmentalists.” In addition, the news outlet also admitted that Biden’s decision could be political suicide among his blue-collar supporters:

Biden's approach comes with risks, including angering political supporters within the labor movement who want the administration to have an openness to resource extraction and the attendant jobs.

If potentially angering supporters wasn’t bad enough, Reuters said, “the pain from any blocked projects will fall disproportionately on smaller, U.S.-focused companies. Many large miners also have global projects that could benefit from the administration's plan.”

Then, in an attempt to save face for Biden, Reuters attempted to downplay the effects of his plans: “To be sure, Washington is not ignoring domestic mining.” Really? [Emphasis added.]

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) reportedly told a House Natural Resources Committee forum that “‘These 'not-in-my-backyard' extremists have made clear they want to lock up our land and prevent the mining of minerals.’”

However the liberal media try to spin Biden’s agenda, it is clear that the plight of U.S. miners is slated to be thrown on the backburner.
